Guest Reviews of Santani

What a magical location... Santani might be a bit remote but it's worth the time and effort to get there! This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in Sri Lanka. The service, accommodation, and facilities were all exceptional.

- lozmorgan, Trip Advisor Review - March 2017

I just returned from spending a total of 17 nights at Santani. This place is so so special and I look forward to coming back. It provided me the necessary mind and body cleaning that I was desperate for.

The location in stunning: set in a secluded piece of land overseeing green lush mountains and a valley below. The rooms are perfect, each including private balcony and a direct and incredible view of the green mountains in front, that put you in immediate serenity.

The food is really beyond, a mix of Sri Lankan cuisine as well as modern western dishes created especially for me based on my likes, dislikes but most importantly my health needs. The food is easily at a Michelin star level.

The Ayurveda Treatment is top notch. The doctor takes great care to assess your condition and come up with the best possible treatment. The Therapists executing his treatment are the best at the field. Daily massages and other Ayurvedic treatments are administered in a beautiful spa area that is open to the sights and sounds of nature.

The overall landscaping, architecture, decor and even the styling of the staff uniforms at Santani are all so well thought out. You continue to find the small details every where you look.

The guided tours through the local village and the beautiful river with the on sight naturalist were great and provide a good idea and knowledge of local life as well as the local animals and plants.

The service of every staff member at Santani is perfect. Everyone is incredibly friendly and gracious and take care of your every need.

Lastly, every aspect of this place is special in the sense that it a perfect location to provide disconnection and rejuvenation from the hectic modern western lives we lead. It is a place to reconnect to nature and human nature at a very basic and important level. And although it is not mandatory, I would recommend that anyone who visits, tries at least one Ayurvedic treatment to get a better understanding of this ancient natural science of keeping our minds and bodies healthy, young and working at their best capacity.
