After this last year I think it is pretty fitting to talk about how practicing yoga can help you maintain a healthy headspace.
I knows it’s been a wild ride since last March and I hope this shines a light on something that I know has certainly helped me and many others.

High-intensity interval training combines very short bursts of vigorous exercise with even shorter recovery work or rests. Due to the often-extreme levels of exertion during the active phases, HIIT sessions typically last less than 30 minutes; as such they're an extremely time-efficient way to get fit and rev up your calorie burn. Nobody wants to spend hours sweating in the gym on a hot summer's day, which is why a regular HIIT session is just what you need to put a spring in your step over the next couple of months – and hopefully beyond.

Stand up paddleboarding is one of the fastest growing water sports for so many reasons and it is becoming increasingly accessible on watersports holidays. It is a brilliant way to get in shape while having fun! It offers a full-body workout, which can burn more calories in an hour than most sports as it combines strength, balance, core and endurance. You’ll most certainly build up your tan and look even more radiant on and off the water. Being around large bodies of water can be incredibly calming, therefore paddling along while soaking up the natural surroundings is meditative.

Think of “weightlifting” and you picture muscle-bound strongmen straining under heavily- loaded barbells. As such, many women are put off lifting weights because they assume it'll make them bulky; the fact is that regular resistance exercises will create definition and strength, but stronger doesn't equal bigger for us females. Building and gaining muscle takes a great deal of dedication and it's actually very hard for women to bulk up - we simply don't have high enough testosterone levels.

Let’s be honest fathers are the most difficult people to get presents for! With mothers it can be flowers, a spa treatment, shoes, jewellery or even a home cooked meal… But the other parent is a completely different ball game – what do they want, need or like? Over the course of the last year, we have seen the engagements in our calendars rescheduled and eventually shelved indefinitely. From small everyday events like a cup of coffee with a friend or a trip to the gym to international events such as the Olympics, our routines came to a halt in an indiscriminatory way – nobody has been free from the effects of the pandemic. Given the frequently changing lockdowns and tiers, it’s easy to see how our perception of time has completely changed. It has meant many of us do not know where the virus year/s have gone. It is hugely down to the fact we separate time with distinguishing occasions – ‘the summer my son had his graduation’ or ‘it was the year we went to Dubai’… Without occasions, one day merely leans into the next, and the next, forming no memories.
On a slightly more optimist note, whether COVID-19 entered our lives or not, there are so many mental health and wellness benefits of having a holiday to look forward to which include:
Interviews from leading health and fitness professionals from around the world to explore a wealth of knowledge in their areas of expertise.
