7 Tips for Effective Belly Fat Loss


Do you want to look ripped? Do you want to look like you’ve packed at least 15 pounds of muscle? Of course, you do. The quickest way to that body of a Greek god is by starting slowly. In short – you need to lose your belly fat, and you need to do it now.

The goal of trimming your belly fat can be frustratingly and incredibly elusive if you don’t know what you’re doing. There are effective (not easy) ways to tone your stomach and your whole body, and you’ll read all about them here.

Count calories

First things first – count your calories. You won’t make that beer belly go away just by wishing upon a star. No one was a fan of mathematics during high school, but math is your friend, at least when it comes to this. Weight gain only occurs when you consume more calories than your body needs. If you don’t workout, the excess energy gets stored as fat, and that’s exactly what you want to avoid.

According to Lisa R. Young, as far as weight gain is concerned, all calories are created equal. That does not mean that you shouldn’t choose food carefully. Foods rich in fiber will make you feel full for a long time, and they can prevent you from overeating and reaching for a snack.

Eat more plants

It’s not only about what you eat; it’s about what you shouldn’t eat, too. If you start your day by consuming fast food or bacon, you’ll consume over half of calories your body needs in one sitting. Avoid eating processed meats for breakfast and focus on onions, peppers, mushrooms, and of course, eggs. Eggs are rich in protein, and they’ll fuel your body for a long time.

Base your diet on plants instead of meat, count calories, and you’ll be able to trim belly fat quickly. Of course, there’s no losing belly fat without breaking a sweat. By counting calories and eating healthy you’ll be able to lose body and belly fat, but if you want to get that ever elusive six-pack, you need to train hard!

Crunches

Crunches are still the best way to get your stomach muscles working, and if you don’t like doing them – sorry. Be aware of one incredibly important thing. Doing crunches incorrectly will actually do nothing for your abs, and you’ll just waste your time. Here’s how you can do them properly:

  • Lie on your back

  • Bend your knees

  • Cross your arms in front of your chest

  • Lift your upper body towards the ceiling and PAUSE at the peak (You need to do that to make those abs work)

Hula hooping

Hula hooping is an exercise that can help with burning belly fat. Admit it; you haven’t tried hula hooping since you were just a kid. Get a hula hoop and start shaking your hips right now! Twist and turn and make those abdominal muscles work. You’ll have a lot of fun while doing it, and the fat on your belly will start disappearing soon.

Dancing

Put your dancing shoes on, and dance like nobody’s watching (because they’re not, they’re probably looking at their phones). You can dance in your home, or you can enroll in a Zumba class, for example. Zumba is great because it combines different moves from exciting dance styles like flamenco, cha-cha-cha, mambo, and others. Dancing is great for the whole body, not just your abs, but there’s no harm in that.

Longboarding

Fine, you don’t have to do crunches if they bore you. There are a couple of more interesting ways to trim that annoying belly fat. Have you ever seen a skateboarder who’s not totally fit? You probably have not.

That’s because riding a longboard is an amazing exercise. You don’t really have to learn all those tricks that youngsters love doing; you just need to be passionate about it. Skateboarding is great for your abs because you’ll use them to balance yourself, but it’s also a full-body workout that’ll shape and tone your body and burn lots of calories.

Boxing

You don’t need gloves, and you don’t need a sparring partner. Throw 50-100 punches a day. Mix up the direction of your punches and get your abs working. While we’re on the subject of boxing, try jumping rope too. All famous boxers love this exercise, and you’ll probably like it too.

Don’t forget to have fun while you’re working out. If you’re having fun, you won’t feel the pain. Burn that fat on your belly by counting calories and doing whichever exercise you prefer. Don’t expect your beer belly to disappear overnight. All good things take time.
