Stress is inevitable. It is an essential part of our lives, but this doesn’t mean that we have to tolerate the stress of our daily lives. It is true that negative emotions can affect our health so keep in mind that we are in control of our own thoughts, and if we are able to let it enter our minds, then we are capable to let it back out. By practicing these very simple yet effective methods can help reduce our everyday stress:

1. Just Breathe

Give yourself a 5-minute break from your daily routine and just center your attention on your breathing. Close your eyes, clear your mind, sit up straight, and then place your hands on your stomach. Inhale very slowly, feeling your breath arise in your belly and gradually working its way to your head. Then gently breathe out through your mouth. Repeat the process 10 to 20 times. Remember that properly breathing can also help improve concentration.

2. Listen to Soft Music

The relaxing power of music has been well established. It is evident that listening to soft, calming sounds such as musical instruments can effectively reduce stress, providing soothing effects on our mind, mood, perception, as well as body.
