This is seen as a way of purifying the self of negativity and of encouraging your spirituality. All the spa treatments are inspired by the natural surroundings and feature the healing powers of local plants.

Guest Reviews of Spa Village Resort Tembok

My new husband and I spent 6 nights at Tembok Spa Village in October 2015 for our honeymoon. The hotel is beautiful; amazing, large infinity pool, well maintained gardens, open air restaurant, steps from the volcanic black sand beach and friendly staff who remember your name and look after you incredibly well.

The location is remote (3hrs from Denpasar) and there is very little to do locally, but that is the point! This is a hotel to settle in to and relax. The hotel arrange free activities each day (yoga, craft activities, star gazing) and also have ideas of trips to take (we cycled to a local waterfall, accompanied by a member of staff who set up breakfast for us!).
The spa treatments are also wonderful. When else would you get 50mins of pampering a day? Heaven!

To note - the rooms are not as luxurious as other Bali resorts. They are beautiful, clean and have everything you need, but compared to other resorts of this quality, they are lacking a bit of 'wow' factor. Also, if you are staying for a while, the food may become a bit repetitive. But the kitchen are happy to be flexible and you can ask for changes to be made.

In our opinion, you need at least 5 days here to really unwind and appreciate the peace and quiet. We finished our honeymoon here and it was the perfect ending.

- Rebecca E, Trip Advisor Review - October 2015

Spent a week here at the end of September / beginning of October and it was as great as could be imagined, well worth the journey time and break from Ubud and further South. That being said a week was about right and wouldn't recommend any longer.

It is in a stunning location looking out from the resort grounds to sea and eastwards from the beach; the pool, rooms and other communal areas of the hotel match it. The gardens and pool area are especially good looking, well kept and immaculate. The treatments were good and the experience matched the quality of the hotel from the welcome at each massage or treatment to leaving each one with a glass of Jamu. I can understand where a few other reviews are critical of the food but considering the demands put on a kitchen to provide 3 fresh 3 course covers per day for each guest the food was great; it is going to happen that a few dishes will feel familiar after a week of eating in the same restaurant but the nature of the available fresh ingredients obviously demands it to be like that. Also despite being an athletic and active guy with a large appetite I was never hungry, you are certainly fed enough and it is certainly not a 'prison' as so ridiculously described below and I can only imagine any dissatisfaction is through sheer greed on holiday. However, the biggest asset of this place are the staff who are excellent throughout the hotel and make your stay as pleasant as possible.
