Guest Reviews of Komune Resort and Beach Club
Thanks for all your help in booking the holiday, it was a great experience and I have definitely come home feeling fitter, healthier and leaner! The food was amazing, just what I eat at home but so much better - never felt too full! There were protein shakes as well - made with protein powder which was definitely a bonus!
The exercise classes were really good, and I organised 2 extra PT sessions a day with Mark. He videoed some of my sessions which meant I could remember them and do them myself. He also gave me an excellent take home program which I have already started and I feel really good.
The hotel was amazing, the health hub was peaceful and quite just the way I like it - pool was great and there was also another pool in the beach club which I spent time in the evenings. The staff at the resort where super friendly and got to know me. They allowed me to order from the health hub menu at the beach club as well.
I would be interested in what other countries you have these things in, especially Europe if I wanted to do a few days! Send me over some ideas /quotes!

I visited Komune for a Fitness Retreat recently and have to say that it well and truly surpassed expectations. It is a very new programmes for Komune but rather than this being a negative, it meant that the wonderful staff were even more accommodating than usual.
I was able to have more one on one time with the personal trainer and yoga instructors as well as enjoy the group training sessions as per normal. There were a great range of gym classes and the facilities were first rate. The lap pool at the health hub was a rarely used gem as families were encouraged to use the pool near the beach. There were five yoga types taught throughout my stay with the highlight being Fly High; a relatively new type but instructed by a pro. Since getting home, their take home gym and yoga programmes have been worth their weight in gold.
The retreat also included an activity day where you could choose one activity for Komune to organize on your behalf such as Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Surfing, whitewater Rafting, Climbing a Volcano etc. Climbing Mt Batung for sunrise was surreal and worth every second of the 2 1/2 hr trek to the summit.
The room I was put up in was beautiful and the staff were always so lovely and friendly. The Health Hub menu was divine; filled with healthy but super tasty local and Indonesian dishes with a selection of western style dishes thrown in too. Three meals with a choice of juice, smoothie or coconut were included in the retreat and the meal could be taken in the quiet of the guest only Health Hub or the vibrant atmosphere of the Beach Club.
Also included in the package was three hours of Spa treatments which were so lovely I almost cried ☺.
If you want a relaxing time away, Komune is for you and even more so if you want to focus on fitness while you are at it.

Great facilities including dedicated yoga pavilion, gym, and wide variety of wining and dining options including healthy choices. The staff are wonderfully helpful, attentive and professional. Yoga classes and massage therapy are excellent as is quality of beauty treatments. I loved sleeping in a super comfy bed to the sound of the surf and having great espresso coffee at 6am while watching the colourful sunrise over the ocean. The large rain showers is a treat. My only niggle was the very low lighting in the room - a desk lamp would be welcome but the free auto-connect wifi was fast. As an older woman alone, I never felt lonely because of the welcoming happy supportive staff. The beach club and health club areas are a great idea offering very different experiences. I spent a week at Komune to de-stress and came home totally relaxed and rejuvenated. Common is ethical with green initiatives and cultural respect for staff and local communities so no guilt needed about exploitation of the Balinese culture and environment. I will definitely return.
